hello!

Here you can write beautiful prayers or songs you like, wether you wrote them or found them. Maybe ones you usually sing during your pilgrimage or in your parish. Any languages are welcome!

Thank you!

If it is not yours, please don't forget to give the name of the writer, or the place you found it ( references of the Bible for instance).

Cannot wait to get there
But there’s something that I must do
You can’t say “I love you God”
And forget your neighbor too

Why are you so scared?
If we all belong to Him
Afraid of catching something
It must be from within

One thing that matters
You’ve read all that there is
Show what you have read
And the love they so desperately need

The Narrow Way
Life is a gift,
The way is individual
No matter what comes
Persevere in the path
“Follow the narrow way”

Seeing the Lamb

Seeing the Lamb—
“If I was only there”
“If I could have seen Him”
If I could only see
The Lamb before me
Personified in people
Far better would I be

“If” seems to be useful
Evading the ordinary
Seeking the extraordinary
Small acts of virtue
Not great acts of heroism
Allows me to see the Lamb

When wilt thou save the people,
Oh, God of Mercy, when?
The people, Lord, the people,
Not thrones and crowns but men!
Flowers of thy heart, O God, are they.
Let them not pass, like weeds, away.
Their heritage a sunless day,
God save the people!

Shall crime bring crime forever,
Strength aiding still the strong?
Is it thy will, O Father,
That men shall toil for wrong?
'NO!' say thy mountains,
'NO!' say thy skies.
Man's clouded sun shall brightly rise,
And songs be heard instead of sighs.
God save the people!

When wilt thou save the people,
Oh, God of Mercy, when?
The people, Lord, the people,
Not thrones and crowns but men!
God save the people, for thine they are,
Thy children, as thy angels, fair,
Oh, save the people from despair!

Lyrics "save the people" by Stephen Schwartz (in Godspell)

Day by day
Oh Dear Lord
Three things I pray
To see thee more clearly
Love thee more dearly
Follow thee more nearly
Day by day

Hope Descends
Just when the world would end
A light from a stable ascends
One winter night, salvation embodied
Clearing out the noise and the mess

Man and God is born
Shepherds and Kings attend
The Fulfillment of their desire
This truth they do see

Now heaven’s gates are opened
For souls just deserving
A seat waits for us
Our place is reserved

The Castle on the Hill
One day while walking
I spied a building strong
The closer I went
The further it seemed
Finally I stopped
And a woman came
Lifted up my chin
In a motherly way
She took my hand
And brought me in
The Castle on the Hill

Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

LYRICS: Song of Bernadette

Written by Leonard Cohen and Jennifer Warnes, Recorded by Jennifer Warnes in 1986
on her album "Famous Blue Raincoat"

There was a child named Bernadette
I heard the story long ago
She saw the Queen of Heaven once
And kept the vision in her soul

No one believed what she had seen
No one believed what she heard
That there were sorrows to be healed
And mercy, mercy in this world

So many hearts I find
Broke like yours and mine
Torn by what we've done and can't undo
I just want to hold you
Won't you let me hold you
Like Bernadette would do

We've been around, we fall, we fly
We mostly fall, we mostly run
And every now and then we try
To mend the damage that we've done

Tonight, tonight I cannot rest
I've got this joy inside my breast
To think that I did not forget
That child, that song of Bernadette

So many hearts I find
Broke like yours and mine
Torn by what we've done and can't undo
I just want to hold you
Won't you let me hold you
Like Bernadette would do

Prayer to Our Lady of Lourdes

O Holy Virgin, in the midst of your days of glory, do not forget
the sorrows of this earth!
Cast a merciful glance upon those who are suffering, struggling against difficulties,
with their lips constantly pressed against life's bitter cup.
Have pity on those who love each other and are separated!
Have pity on our rebellious hearts!
Have pity on those we love!
Have pity on those who fear!
Grant hope and peace to all!
Amen!

An Irish blessing:

May you always have work for your hands to do.
May your pockets hold always a coin or two.
May the sun shine bright on your windowpane.
May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you

Happy St Patrick's Day! :trefle:
